Assistant Controller
 Columbia, CT |   Onsite (5 days/week)
 Compensation: $105,000 – $115,000 (based on experience)

Excellent growth opportunity for an experienced accounting professional within a stable and expanding manufacturing company.

We’re partnering with a well-established manufacturer seeking a hands-on Assistant Controller to join a small, collaborative accounting team. This individual will play a key role in driving accuracy, efficiency, and financial visibility across the organization — with a clear path to the Controller position within two years.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage core accounting functions including AP/AR, treasury, and cost controls.

  • Support and continuously improve the month-end close and financial reporting processes.

  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.

  • Partner with operations, supply chain, and engineering to track costs and drive profitability.

  • Perform variance, margin, and ROI analyses to support pricing and investment decisions.

  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and audit requirements.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred).

  • 3–7 years of accounting or finance experience, ideally in a manufacturing or aerospace environment.

  • Strong understanding of cost accounting, inventory, and financial reporting.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; ERP system experience preferred.

  • Highly organized, analytical, and motivated to take on broader leadership responsibilities.
