Schedule : Hybrid in office two days, remote three. 9 am – 6pm EST.

Salary $50-75,000. Position has annual bonus eligibility based on company performance/discretion
Experience: At least three to six years’ experience
Reports into: Accounting Supervisor
Education: a bachelor’s degree in accounting. Advanced degree/certification preferred but not required.
General Accounting Job Description:
We are looking for a detail-oriented, self-starter Staff Accountant to join our team in Melville, New York. The ideal candidate will be responsible for various accounting tasks, including journal entries, financial statement analysis, compliance filings, and weekly sales reconciliations while ensuring accuracy and efficiency. This role requires a solid foundation in accounting and the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with team members and senior management.
Typical duties:
- Reconciling sales subledger to general ledger account balances
- Preparing financial statements.
- Supporting monthend and year-end close.
- Preparing financial statements, journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Review GL posting for accruals, reclassifications and setup supporting documentation for internal/external audits.
- Assessing internal controls, including risk assessments and reviews of risk areas.
- Assisting with budget preparation and preparing the monthly budget variance analyses.
- Maintaining and reconciling internal balance sheet workpaper schedules.
- Adhoc projects as needed.
