 TECHNICAL DIRECTOR

Responsibilities

  • Ensures the health and safety of employees under their direction;
  • Ensures that their staff uses all operational management systems to monitor and maintain high quality standards;
  • Maintains good work practices in their departments;
  • Plans, organizes, develops, monitors, and evaluates operations related to the maintenance of injection molding machines and mechanical/electrical equipment;
  • Supervises and approves department-related purchases;
  • Coordinates team communication between different shifts;
  • Ensures proper equipment maintenance (preventive and regular maintenance);
  • Establishes and directs preventive and corrective maintenance of production equipment to optimize results and ensure optimal and seamless efficiency;
  • Coordinates maintenance work on the factory site buildings and offices;
  • Maintains and controls departmental expenses, including subcontracting costs;
  • Is responsible for requesting and monitoring special projects;
  • Continuously seeks out new opportunities to improve speed, quality, cost and delivery accuracy;
  • Participates in budget development, its management and controls maintenance expenses – spare parts, replacement parts OT, and outside contractors;
  • Is responsible for maximizing employee efficiency using systems like predictive and preventative maintenance;
  • Overall Plant uptime metrics and changeover speed metrics to provide the Plant operations a reliable nimble platform up which to manufacture quality products reliably.
  • Supervises employees and ensures good team spirit and harmony; and
  • Participates in the Plant Manufacturing Leadership Team..

Requirements
 

  • College diploma in Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience in manufacturing management;
  • 5 to 10 years of experience as a manager in a manufacturing environment;
  • Knowledge and experience with continuous improvement principles

Knowledge and Skills
 

  • Lean 6Sigma tools
  • Preventative and Predictive Maintenance systems and optimized use
  • Strong technical background – teaching and trouble shooting complex issues
  • Comfortable around higher management and strong presentation skills
  • Knowledge of the Office Suite;
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written;
  • Good ability to manage change and resolve problems;
  • Good analytical skills;
  • Must represent significant added value in all aspects of teamwork.
