Position: Controller; $140-150k
Location: Westboro, MA
Responsibilities:
- Managing the general ledger close process to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Utilizing ERP System to generate necessary reports for financial analysis.
- Review of bank reconciliations to ensure accurate financial records.
- Using accounting software systems to streamline financial operations and improve efficiency.
- Overseeing core accounting functions, including Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) and Payroll.
- Implementing and maintaining efficient accounting close processes, including reconciliations, accruals and journal entries.
- Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflows.
- Oversee regulatory reporting, including tax planning and audit compliance
- Hire, train and supervise accounting staff.
- Collaborating with the finance team to improve financial procedures and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
- Assist in the development and monitoring of budgets, forecasts and financial plans to support business objectives.
Required skills and qualifications
- Ten or more years of professional accounting experience.
- Prior controllership experience desired, but will consider someone with 5 or more years senior level accounting or finance manager experience.
- Strong understanding of banking processes and financial data analysis.
- Working knowledge of national and local tax regulations and compliance reporting.
- Experience in managing payroll, with focus on streamlining accounting processes.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Accounting Software Systems.
- Exemplary history of financial project management.
Preferred skills and qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in business, accounting, or related field.
- Ten or more years of experience as a senior-level accounting or finance manager.
- Professional certification such as CPA is preferred but not mandatory.
- Advanced MS Office proficiency including expert Excel skills required.
