Quality Manager (Confidential – Aerospace Manufacturing)

Overview
A growing, highly respected aerospace manufacturing organization in the Greater Hartford area is seeking a Quality Manager to lead and elevate its Quality function across multiple operations.
This is a high-impact leadership role reporting directly to executive leadership, with full ownership of the Quality Management System and a team of quality professionals. The company is experiencing continued growth and is looking for a leader who can drive world-class quality performance, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Quality function (inspection, MRB, final inspection, etc.)
- Own and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS)
- Ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO, FAA, and customer requirements
- Serve as the primary contact for internal/external audits
- Partner with Operations, Engineering, and Leadership on quality initiatives
- Drive root cause analysis, corrective actions, and defect reduction
- Oversee contract review, technical specifications, and inspection methods
- Analyze data to improve performance, reduce cost of quality, and mitigate risk
- Lead Lean / Continuous Improvement initiatives (Kaizen, Six Sigma, etc.)
What We’re Looking For
- 8+ years in quality leadership within aerospace or regulated manufacturing
- Proven experience managing a QMS (AS9100 preferred)
- Strong background in audits, compliance, and regulatory standards
- Experience leading quality teams and cross-functional initiatives
- Ability to balance operational performance with strict compliance requirements
- Hands-on, data-driven leader with strong communication skills
Preferred
- AS9100 / NADCAP experience
- Lean Six Sigma (Black Belt a plus)
- Experience scaling quality systems in a growth environment
