Cost Accountant (Aerospace Manufacturing)

Compensation:
$100,000 – $110,000 base + 8% bonus
Overview:
A leading aerospace manufacturing organization is seeking a Cost Accountant to support complex, high-precision production programs. This role will play a critical part in job costing, inventory accuracy, and financial analysis to support operational and strategic decision-making.
This is a highly visible position partnering with operations, engineering, and leadership to drive cost efficiency and improve overall financial performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead job costing analysis across multiple manufacturing programs
- Oversee and support physical inventory processes, cycle counts, and inventory accuracy
- Develop and maintain part-level budgeting and cost models
- Analyze variances between standard and actual costs; identify root causes and recommend solutions
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
- Conduct financial analysis tied to production, materials, and labor utilization
- Partner cross-functionally with operations, engineering, and supply chain teams
- Assist with audits, internal controls, and process improvements
- Drive initiatives to improve costing accuracy and streamline financial processes
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5–8+ years of cost accounting experience within a manufacturing environment
- Aerospace or defense industry experience strongly preferred
- Strong background in job costing, inventory, and standard costing
- Experience with physical inventory and cost analysis in a production setting
- Ability to analyze complex financial data and present actionable insights
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams
