Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Bookkeeper to take ownership of full-cycle accounting across a complex, multi-entity organization. This role functions at the intersection of bookkeeping and senior accounting, reporting directly to the VP and serving as a critical financial resource across multiple entities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle accounting (full-charge bookkeeping), including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger maintenance, and month-end/year-end close
- Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
- Oversee and maintain financial records across multiple entities and locations, ensuring consistency and compliance
- Reconcile bank and credit card accounts and resolve discrepancies proactively
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis efforts
- Ensure adherence to accounting best practices, internal controls, and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate closely with leadership, providing insights and recommendations to support business decisions
- Maintain and optimize accounting systems, with a strong focus on QuickBooks
Qualifications
- Extensive experience in full-cycle accounting / full-charge bookkeeping
- Proven ability to manage accounting for multiple entities (experience with 15+ entities preferred)
- Strong financial reporting skills and attention to detail
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks
- Experience in the construction industry is highly preferred; candidates from other industries will be considered if exceptionally strong
- Ability to work independently in a senior-level capacity with minimal oversight
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
