HR Generalist – Manufacturing
Location: Torrington, CT
Compensation: $80,000 – $85,000 base + benefits
Overview
We are partnering with a growing manufacturing organization in the Torrington area seeking a hands-on HR Generalist to support daily HR operations.
This is a highly visible, floor-facing role where you’ll work closely with supervisors and managers to support employee relations, recruiting, and overall HR processes. The position is ideal for someone who enjoys being in the business, not just behind a desk.
This is not a senior/strategic role — we are looking for someone who is comfortable balancing administrative HR work with true generalist responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle recruiting for hourly and salaried roles
- Act as a key resource for employee relations, coaching, and conflict resolution
- Partner with supervisors and managers on performance management and day-to-day HR support
- Assist with onboarding, offboarding, and employee engagement initiatives
- Maintain HRIS systems, employee records, and reporting
- Support benefits administration and HR compliance efforts
- Ensure adherence to labor laws, company policies, and best practices
- Handle day-to-day HR administrative responsibilities as needed
Qualifications
- 3+ years of HR experience, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong employee relations and communication skills
- Working knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices
- Experience with HRIS and/or payroll systems
- Ability to operate independently and support multiple priorities
