Contract to potential hire! Ophthalmogy clinic looking for a Medical Assistant/Ophthalmic Technician.
Location: Andover, MA
Schedule: M-F 8am-5pm
Rate: $24-$26/hr DOE
Description:
- Cooperates and communicates with all staff members and physicians about patient matters
- Accurately performs routine ophthalmic diagnostic testing
- Maintains and cleans all equipment and lanes after being used, including sterilization of equipment
- Efficiently and accurately interviews patients and documents histories
- Performs technical workups, patient interviews and special testing
- Communicates with patients regarding follow-up care, surgeries, procedures, changes in schedule, symptoms, surgery scheduling, etc
Requirements:
- Willing to train a seasoned MA not coming from the ophthalmic background
- Must have clinical experience interacting with patients
- Excellent customer service skills, in person & over the phone, including working well with others and resolving conflict
- Proficient math skills; good with numbers
- Demonstrates working knowledge of eye anatomy, disease, symptoms and ocular meds
- Displays consistent organization, accuracy, and attention to detail
